Multi Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI): This is the primary insurance coverage purchased by growers of almost any crop being raised for grain. MPCI is a very affordable way to provide a production and/or revenue guarantee for growers. There are several different types of MPCI and many different endorsements that can help a producer with various coverages. Experienced Marin Biel agents can help you decide which coverages are best for your operation.

Crop Hail: Insurance designed to cover losses due to specific peril of hail. There are many different types of Hail insurance that differ mostly by deductible. There are also options to extend your hail coverage on top of the Multi Peril Coverages. Various endorsements are also available to add coverage for things like green snap and wind if necessary. Marin Biel insurance offers many variations of hail policies that can fit the producers requirements.
Forage Insurance: Provides coverage for various types of hay crops and crops that are raised for feeding purposes. The primary option for Alfalfa and Grass Alfalfa is a production based policy similar to that for insuring grain crops. The second option is to insure for rainfall on the forage acres which measures losses using the Rain Fall Index.
Pasture Insurance: Also available through RMA and is designed to help producers insure against lack of rainfall for grazing acres. This program also uses the Rain Fall Index to determine losses
Livestock Coverage: Risk Management Agency (RMA) has also developed insurance options for livestock producers that can help lock in future prices for livestock. Basically, it’s a way to establish a pricing floor for producers looking to minimize risk while raising or feeding cattle. This product does not provide mortality coverage for specific animals.
Hay Fire: A product designed to insure Hay for the peril of fire. Coverage can be added for in the field and stacked in a hay yard.
Farm and Ranches
Farm Coverage: As an independent agency, Marin Biel Insurance has several options for finding a company that best fits the needs for a farming operation. Property coverages for the home, personal property, farm machinery, farm buildings, feed, chemicals, tools, fences, and livestock are all available on a typical farm owners policy. Farm policies are also designed to cover the broad liability exposure that a typical farmer may have in the operation. There are many different endorsements available for farm policies that can be selected to provide coverages for business pursuits that go beyond the typical farm operation. Marin Biel agents can help you to sort through which options would benefit your farm the most.
Commercial Policies for Specific Ag businesses: In the event that a farm policy cannot accommodate an agricultural business, proper coverage may require a specific commercial policy. Marin Biel Agents can help you determine whether a commercial policy is required for your operation.
Home, Auto, and Recreational
Homeowner Policy: Provides coverage for your main home and potentially for a seasonal or second home. Homeowner policies include coverages for belongings, furniture, etc. Another important component of a homeowner policy is the liability coverage for the home property as well as personal liability. Marin Biel writes for several companies that can allow us to find the best fit your needs.
Auto: Can be purchased with vehicle liability and vehicle coverage. Often when packaged with your homeowner’s policy there can be significant discounts. Marin Biel can write for several auto carriers to find an option that best fits your needs.
Renters Policy: Designed to provide both personal property (belongings, furniture, etc.) and personal liability coverage for those who do not own the home that they occupy.
Dwelling Policy: Provides coverage for a home or property that is not occupied by the owner; usually, a home that is rented to another party.
Recreational Policies: Designed to cover things like campers, ATV’s, boats, fish houses, motorcycles, etc. These policies need to be set up with consideration to what the items are used for. Sometimes it is best to include these on a farm owner or homeowner policy and other times it might be best to set up a stand-alone policy. Experienced Marin Biel agents can help with finding the right coverages.
Commercial Policies
Property: Options to provide coverage for buildings, personal property, inventory, equipment, and liability for a business operation. These policies are often customized by our agents to fit the needs of the particular business.
Business Auto: Provide auto coverages for vehicles that are used within a business or used for commercial hauling or transportation. Coverages are often set up for specific uses.
Inland Marine policies: Can be a stand-alone policy for equipment that is portable by nature and used in various locations versus property that might be at a specific location at all times. Our agents can help you decide which is best for your specific requirements.
